A Senior's Day Out
Mr Tan (not his real name) is so happy to be out of his house. He is unable to leave the house on his own. and requires support of a wheelchair enabled bus to bring him for his medical appointment. Every appointment is an opportunity for him to be out of the house and he usually have additional requests to help him with some errands.
Today, he said this is the first time he puts on a mask and the first time out of his house after 5 months at home. After his medical appointment, he requested that he would like to have a hair cut and we brought him to the salon next door. He also requested that we do some grocery shopping with him and was delighted to choose the fruits, titbits and kueh that he likes.
It was insightful learning for us. We are so restless after staying at home for 2 months during the Circuit Breaker. What about these seniors who are home bound and have no access to internet access and smartphone?
