Medical Escort
and Transport (MET)
Did you know that by 2030, more than 20% of Singaporean residents will be aged 65 years and above?*
Singapore faces the challenge of an ageing population with the majority of seniors living alone and without much support.
How do we tackle this impending issue?

We believe that every senior deserves the help and support they need for them to
Blossom In Their Ageing Years.
What is MET ?
Our MET (Medical Escort & Transport) programme involves sending dedicated Medical Escorts right to the doorstep of frail and needy Seniors aged 55 and above.
They will then be escorted safely to their regular medical appointments or treatments. We also provide them with access to other essentials such as grocery shopping, house cleaning, haircutting, collection of tokens, and more - all so that they can - live and age well at home and thrive in the community.
You too can help a fellow senior in need today!
MET Achievements during Covid-19
With the pandemic, there has been a 30% increase in beneficiaries' calls-for-help and a 70% increase in our MET Escort trip requests in the year 2020. To meet this rising demand, our current two wheelchair-enabled buses serve up to 1900 trips in 2022 - and are only increasing in capacity.
Besides essential services, our MET programme also focuses on improving seniors' mental well-being by giving them a chance to interact and prosper within the community through meeting fellow seniors who are volunteers.
How does MET help the beneficiaries?
Meet our MET Beneficiaries
Mdm Oh Ah Boon, 74 y.o
Widowed. Elder son passed away in 2021, second son is not able to visit her regularly due to family commitments
Often feels isolated due to staying home alone most of the time
Faces challenges in getting to her regular medical appointments
How MET helps her: As an active MET beneficiary, Mdm Oh regularly partakes in the Active ageing program with the volunteer’s encouragement. Interacting regularly with MET medical escorts provided her a sense of meaningful friendship. Thanks to the programs and regular visits, Mdm Oh now feels less lonely and aspires to enjoy her life to the fullest.
Mr. Finian & Mdm Magdalene, both 92 y.o
Both retired in their 90s with no active income
Have 4 children in their 60s and 70s who have chronic diseases and are thus unable to care for them
Both suffer from chronic medical conditions and are immobile
How MET helps them: The MET program helped the couple attend their regular medical appointments effortlessly and without any financial strain. They also attended Racial Harmony Day in July 2022 and enjoyed the celebration after staying indoors for a long time. Their lives definitely blossomed for the better.
Sarinah Binte Anag, 68 y.o
A retired cleaner with 3 children
Her husband passed away many years ago
Stays in a rental block with 1 mentally challenged daugher, faces loneliness and deteriorating health
How MET helps her: In 2019, Aunty Sarinah’s goal was to get to know people in her new neighbourhood and be healthy. She participated in various programmes like handicrafts, cooking and even exercise programmes such as Chair Yoga, Seated Taichi etc. As her health improved after a few months with us, she was empowered to volunteer with us, contributing her time and skills while spreading her love for fellow seniors.
