Community Befriending (CBP) during COVID-19
Circuit Breaker in Singapore has caused much disruptions to our lives, especially for the seniors. Already at risk of experiencing social isolation, some of the seniors can find their sense of loneliness exacerbated by a loss of routine.
Although we are not able to make physical visits to these seniors, our staff and volunteers has been doing weekly calls to keep the seniors connected and check in on them if they require any assistance. At least the seniors know that they are not alone.
Some of our staff and volunteers are home makers who find themselves busier than before having to prepare meals and attend to the family members who are working from home. Greatly appreciate them setting aside time for the seniors despite their hectic schedule.
