A Visit by President Halimah Yacob to Blossom Seeds
With the presence of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus in Singapore, Blossom Seeds is delighted and honoured to have our President Halimah Yacob to grace us with her visit on Saturday 8 February 2020 at our Activity Centre for Seniors at Canberra.
Supported and guided by the youth volunteers from Youth Corps Singapore (YCS), she helped to reinforce the message of good personal hygiene practices to protect ourselves. She spoke to each of our vulnerable seniors and distributed hand sanitisers, hand soap and wet wipes to them. For the vulnerable home bound seniors who have not collected their masks from the Resident Committee, she also helped to distribute their masks to them.
She urged the community to stay united, with the challenging times ahead, and to look out for each other, especially the less fortunate groups who may be more susceptible in such times. We thank her for requesting President's Challenge to mobilise our community resources to help the vulnerable groups in our society.
Her visit brings delightful smiles to our surprised seniors on this 15th and final day of Lunar New Year, known as “Chap Goh Mei”.
